"Titanic" reissued in
theaters on the occasion of the 20th anniversary
LOS
ANGELES - One of the greatest movies of the 90's is back in the cinema after 20
years. "Titanic" returns to the big screen for a week in December,
two decades after Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet fell in love with this
doomed ship.
Dolby
Laboratories, Paramount Pictures and AMC Theaters have said Wednesday that a
remastered version of James Cameron's movie will air on some AMC sites around
the world from December 1st. Cameron says it's the best version of
"Titanic" ever released.
Cameron's
"Titanic" grossed more than $ 2 billion at the box office and won 11
Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director. It's still the most
profitable film of all time, with no adjustment for inflation.
Decades
later, the film still creates a lot of buzz. In January, Cameron asked if there
was room for Jack (DiCaprio) on the piece of wood that prevented Rose (Winslet)
from coming out of the water.
"Look, it's very, very
simple: you read page 147 of the script and he says," Jack comes down from
the board and gives him his place so that she can survive. "It's as simple
as that: you can do any post-analysis you want," Cameron told the Daily
Beast when asked about the idea.
"Her best choice was to keep
her upper body out of the water and hope to be pulled by a boat or something
before she died."
Tickets
for the reissue of "Titanic" will go on sale Wednesday.
