New
Trailer: Liam Neeson in 'The Commuter'
In
2008, Liam Neeson gave a boost to his career when the action movie
"Taken" won one of the biggest openings of the Super Bowl weekend.
It's no wonder that his latest thriller, "The Commuter"
(due out in
January), made his debut on his new trailer at Fox's release of N.F.L. Sunday
cover.
The
plot contains echoes of "Strangers on a Train" and "Murder on
the Orient Express" (the remake of director Kenneth Branagh of Agatha
Christie opens next month).
The cast also includes Vera Farmiga and Patrick
Wilson, both veterans of the hit horror franchise "The Conjuring".
The
film is the fourth collaboration between Neeson and director Jaume
Collet-Serra. Their most successful vehicle to date, "Non-Stop",
took
place on board an airplane, and "The Commuter" shares a similar
transportation theme. The star plays the role of an insurance salesman who must
determine which of his fellow passengers is in danger of death or risk the
safety of his relatives.
65-year-old
Neeson is reported to have recently said he is pulling out of action movies
before returning to history. Given his particular skill set - and the
commercial failure of his latest drama, "Mark Felt: The Man Who Bring the
White House Back" - "The Commuter" Could Not Be His Last Trip as
a Hero of 'action.
